Putting all the jute bags and weapons down, Lu Li listened attentively against the window and probed around outside for a bit. When he was certain that there was no scouts following around, Lu Li felt assured.
Soon, the waiter delivered a feast and two suits of new clothes for Lu Li. Lu Li satisfactorily asked the waiter to withdraw.
There was a small bathtub in the suite. Lu Li hadn’t taken a shower for several days. Now, he enjoyed a comfortable bath, changed into some clean clothes and had a hearty meal.
Lu Li ate and drank to his heart’s content, and then called the waiter again to acquire some information. Lu Li was able to confirm that the Wu Ling County was not far away from here. It would only take him four hours if he rushed at full speed.
When everything else was settled, Lu Li went back to his room. He threw away the worn-out clothes and organized his stuff. He wrapped Patriarch Qi’s long sword and Patriarch Piao’s long sword with a jute bag. These were priceless weapons.
“What is that?”
While doing it, Lu Li found a yellowish booklet. He frowned in confusion and then quickly realized that this should be the loot he got from killing Uncle Scar.
“Should this be about a Xuan Skill?”
Lu Li hadn’t learned any Xuan Skill. This had intrigued him. He opened up the booklet to carefully observe it. In a moment, his eyes started glowing. This booklet was indeed about a Xuan Skill. It seemed to be a very sophisticated one.
Lu Li thought it was sophisticated because he couldn’t understand a single word in it. He browsed for a while and then read the last paragraph—Rolling Thunder Xuan Skill. When a warrior could cultivate this Xuan Skill to the fullest extent, nine strands of Xuan Power could be released, and strength could increase by two times.
It was like a sudden clap of thunder in Lu Li’s head. He was so excited that he trembled all over. Since the Xuan Skill could increase the strength by two times, this one was some very powerful Xuan Skill. It should be one of the Earth Grade or higher. Such an unexpected surprise.
Lu Li already had more than 33,000 pounds of strength. When he used his Bloodline Skill, his strength could go up to 100,000 pounds. If he could accomplish the great achievement in cultivating this Xuan Skill, and if it could really improve the strength by two times, then Lu Li could possess strength of more than 200,000 pounds!
Two hundred thousand!
Could it be imagined how terrifying that was? Lu Li had no clear idea, but such a strength definitely would surpass that of a warrior at the peak of the Spirit Sea Realm.
Lu Li swallowed some saliva. Nothing else was on his mind now. He calmed his mind and started to analyze the “Rolling Thunder” Xuan Skill through mediation.
“Why can’t I understand it?”
After the time it took for an incense stick to burn, Lu Li lifted his head up and murmured in confusion. The Xuan Skill was not just complicated and sophisticated, but completely beyond Lu Li’s comprehension.
Lu Li refused to be misled by the situation. He continued to bury his head in the booklet. He studied word by word for the time it took for three more incense sticks to burn. Finally, he looked up, but his eyes were filled with bitterness…
He understood it now, but he could not breakthrough the Xuan Skill. The reason was that this was the second volume of the booklet. There should be a first volume. Without the first one, it would be preposterous for Lu Li to understand it.
“Sh*t, sh*t, sh*t!”
It was like one asked a pretty girl out and one were ready to get intimate only to realize that the girl was in her monthly business. That was how Lu Li was feeling like. The more he hoped for, the more disappointed he was.
Without the first volume, the Xuan Skill could not be learned. Lu Li almost tore the booklet into pieces in a fit of rage. Ultimately, he thought that he could trade some contribution points with this when he got back to the Liu Family. As such, he suppressed his anger down.
Lu Li randomly threw the booklet into the jute bag and started cultivating Xuan Energy on his bed, trying to get the last small part of the energy channel opened up.
It took Lu Li nearly an hour to get himself together. He fell deeply into sleep after cultivating till the midnight. He got up before dawn and skipped breakfast. He carried his stuff, left the tavern and wildly ran towards the southeast.
Everything went well. Lu Li ran at the top of his speed. Nothing he was worried about happened. The powerful warriors of the Zhao Family did not chase up. He even didn’t see any scouts.
After running for four hours, a big county appeared on the horizon. Lu Li did not let his guards down. What if there was some ambush outside the county by the Zhao Family? Lu Li was not entirely safe until he got into the Liu Family mansion.
Tat, tat, tat!
An old and shabby carriage was running ahead of Lu Li. A ploy came to him. Lu Li ran over, kicked back and landed on the shaft of the carriage. The wheeler started at Lu Li with anger, but he became kind of scared when he saw the Heaven Kylin Sword in Lu Li’s hand. He said, “You, what do you want?”
Lu Li got one Golden Leaf out and handed it over, “I am injured. Bring me along with you for a bit.”
The wheeler was afraid to take the Golden Leaf, but Lu Li waved his sword so the wheeler had to take it. Then Lu Li sneaked into the carriage.
The inside of the cart was filled with caged fowls, so the wheeler should be heading to the county to sell his poultry. Lu Li sat on one of the cages regardless.
The wheeler continued his journey gingerly. After some distance, he turned back and said, “Buddy, don’t do anything reckless. I can get caught.”
Lu Li lifted the curtain and seriously replied, “I will get off at the gate. Even if I am in trouble, you will not get involved.”
So the wheeler put his mind at ease and continued his journey, taking good control of his carriage. Lu Li sat inside and quietly observed the surroundings through the window.
One and a half miles, a bit more than one mile, and the last mile!
Suddenly, Lu Li withdrew into the cart as he found some men sneaking around and hiding in the ditches. If it were not for the fact that Lu Li had been observing along the way, he wouldn’t have seen it.
“Which family are the scouts from?”
Lu Li got down and dared not to look to the outside now. But soon, a sharp sound came, and one of the men ran out of the ditch and stopped the carriage directly.
That man was wearing a regular warrior robe. It could not be told which family he was of. He stared at the wheeling in a fierce way with a shiny saber in his hand.
The wheeler halted the carriage but dared not to talk. He was so nervous that his body trembled. The warrior walked over and lifted the curtain with his saber.
Seeing a young man on all fours in the cage, the warrior shouted in surprise. Instantly, the other men hiding in the ditch jumped out and one of them even cried out.
“Scouts of the Zhao Family!”
Lu Li became coldblooded. There was no reason to remain good-mannered now. He jumped out like a sharp sword and kicked the man away. That warrior was just at the middle stage of the Xuan Wu Realm, so he could not have dodged this kick.
Lu Li did not pause for a second. He mobilized his Xuan Energy and rushed towards the gate at full speed. There was only a distance of less than a mile from where he was to the gate. He could make it within the time for half of an incense stick to burn given his speed.
Several loud shouts came from afar. Three men ran wildly towards Lu Li from miles away. They were even faster than Lu Li. Clearly, they were at the Spirit Sea Realm.
“Ha, too late!”
Lu Li sneered. The gate was right in front of him. Lu Li could even see the officers of the Liu Family. How could the Zhao Family warriors have the guts to attack him right here?
When Lu Li was just one third of a mile away from the gate, the three warriors at the Spirit Sea Realm in the distance slowed down. The scouts gave up pursuing as well.
To kill a Guest Warrior of the Liu Family right under the nose of the warriors from the Liu Family was too bold a move for the Zhao Family now, unless a complete fall-out with the Liu Family was what they had in mind.
“Ha, ha, ha!”
Lu Li laughed out loud and ran towards the gate. The several Liu Family warriors at the gate were disturbed by the shouts a while back. They hauled out their saber seeing Lu Li run towards them.
“Officers, don’t get me wrong. I am the Guest Warrior of the Liu Family!”
Lu Li took his ID Token out and threw it to them. One of the warriors of the Liu Family looked at it and nodded. The other one glanced to the distance and asked Lu Li, “Buddy, what was that?”
Lu Li looked back and shrugged his shoulder. “Nothing serious. I accidentally messed up with some bastards from the Zhao Family. They want to harm me. I can run very fast and they don’t dare to do anything now that they see you guys.”
The officers put on a stern and cold expression. One of them patted Lu Li’s shoulder. “Buddy, you go into the county first. We will stop them for you. This is the Wu Ling County. It is not the Zhao Family County.”
